OPERATION DACS demonstrates serial and parallel
digital to analogue output conversion. The
serial chip, U3, is operated via the SPI output of the PIC MCU. When the simulation
is run, the serial output voltage can be stepped up and down via the push
buttons. The serial DAC provides a high resolution 16-bit output. When
the run button is then pressed, an 8-bit incrementing is output at Port D to
the parallel DAC, U2, which causes a low resolution digital ramp waveform to
be generated. This may be viewed on the virtual scope. |
