OPERATION The virtual terminal produces and displays RS232 format serial character codes. The MCU initially outputs a user prompt message to the terminal screen, and numerical ASCII codes are returned after entry at the PC keyboard. These signals are monitored on the virtual scope. The serial codes are received by the MCU USART port, processed, and output as BCD numbers to the 7-segment display.
